EMPLOYABILITY SCHEME

Elba have partnered with a variety of member companies and their suppliers to offer valuable opportunities to local people. They are offering local residents an opportunity to participate in a 3 week employability scheme, receive a guaranteed interview with an employer on completion for a vacancies on-site, on another London contract or with an employer offering a similar role.

Week one - Employability Training (Monday 24th Feb -Friday 28th Feb 2014)

Candidates will receive employer-led style of employability skills training including: communication skills, CV surgery/workshop, employer expectations, time management, budgeting and money management, numeracy/literacy testing, customer service, interview preparation and more.

Week Two & Three - Work Placement (Monday 3rd March -Friday 14th March 2014)

They have partnered with member companies like Deutsche Bank and Lloyd’s of London (more to be confirmed) and their suppliers, to offer a variety of opportunities that will provide you with the necessary experience to obtain a job.

Who can apply?

You will need to be a resident of the following boroughs: Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets, Barking & Dagenham. In addition, you will need to be 18+, be interested in at least one of the opportunities available, have the right to work in the UK, can commit to the three week scheme and looking for employment.

Each candidate that successfully starts the course will have their travel allowances paid directly into their bank account each week (up to £25 per person).
